Tor Project (501c3 nonprofit)

Transforming the way people think about anonymity and freedom online, and how they act to protect it.

Tor Project is free software that enables people and groups to improve their freedom, privacy, and security on the internet. Ongoing trends in law, policy, and technology threaten anonymity as never before,

undermining our ability to speak and read freely online. Tor allows organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their privacy.

Tor is used every day for a wide variety of purposes by normal people, the military, journalists, law enforcement officers, activists, and many others. Individuals use Tor to keep websites from tracking them and their family members, and to connect to news outlets when censorship blocks access.

Tor is a rapidly growing and highly regarded 501c3 nonprofit, transforming the way people think about anonymity and freedom, and how they act to protect it.
